Jobber vs Housecall Pro (2026): year-one cost by crew size
Small Shop Fit is an independent publisher. Not a software vendor.
Updated 29 Aug 2026 (MDT). Dollar figures below are from each vendor’s official pricing page unless an editor note says otherwise.
Affiliate disclosure. Some links on this page are affiliate links. If you buy through them, Small Shop Fit may earn a commission. That does not change the list prices, and it does not change the math. We are not approved for either program yet; trial links are placeholders. Read the full affiliate disclosure. Official prices live on Jobber’s pricing page and Housecall Pro’s pricing page.
The answer, by shop size
There is no single winner. The published list price flips by crew size, and at one common size it does not flip at all.
- Solo, lowest published annual plan: Jobber Core is $29/mo ($348 year one). Housecall Pro Basic is $59/mo ($708 year one). Jobber is the lower subscription if Core actually covers the work. Housecall Pro puts job costing, a price book, and consumer financing on Basic; Jobber holds job costing for Grow.
- About 5 users, mid-tier annual: Jobber Connect and Housecall Pro Essentials both list $149/mo ($1,788 year one). Same sticker. Posts that say Jobber is always $20–40 cheaper are wrong at this tier.
- 8–10 users, published annual SKUs: Jobber Connect for 10 users is $229/mo ($2,748 year one). Jobber Grow for 10 users is $299/mo ($3,588). Housecall Pro MAX is $299/mo with 8 users included ($3,588). Seats 9 and 10 on MAX are +$75/mo each.
Jobber’s pricing page still showed a dated intro on 29 Aug 2026: “Save up to 40% Offer ends Aug 31.” The tables on this page use post-promo annual rates (Core $29, Connect 1-user $99, Connect 5-user $149). The $21 / $70 / $105 first-year wizard prices are the promo, not the ongoing rate.
If you are already past this band, see Jobber vs Housecall Pro vs ServiceTitan. ServiceTitan does not publish a list price. We will not invent one.
How year-one cost is calculated
Year-one subscription = official per-month rate × 12.
- Jobber numbers are the regular annual figure on getjobber.com/pricing — the “then $X/mo billed annually” rate after the intro, not the Aug 31 promo.
- Housecall Pro numbers are the annual (per month) list on housecallpro.com/pricing.
- Card and bank processing sit on top. They are not in the subscription tables. Do not treat the year-one column as “what you will spend if you run $X through the processor.”
- Sales tax is excluded on both official pages.
- All figures FACT unless an editor note marks EVIDENCE.
Full tier math, including add-ons: Jobber pricing (2026) and Housecall Pro pricing (2026).
Year-one subscription (official list)
USD. Subscription only. Annual column is the default.
| Shop | Plan (users included) | Annual list | Year-one (× 12) | Month-to-month list | Year-one if monthly |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Solo | Jobber Core (1) | $29/mo | $348 | $49/mo | $588 |
| Solo | Housecall Pro Basic (1) | $59/mo | $708 | $79/mo | $948 |
| ~5 users | Jobber Connect (5) | $149/mo | $1,788 | $199/mo | $2,388 |
| ~5 users | Housecall Pro Essentials (5) | $149/mo | $1,788 | $189/mo | $2,268 |
At ~5 users on annual billing, Connect and Essentials list the same $149/mo. On month-to-month at that size, Housecall Pro Essentials is $189 and Jobber Connect is $199 — Housecall Pro is the lower monthly list, not Jobber.
Other published annual SKUs at the same sizes, if you need the next tier up:
| Shop | Plan (users included) | Annual list | Year-one (× 12) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solo | Jobber Connect (1) | $99/mo | $1,188 |
| Solo | Jobber Grow (1) | $149/mo | $1,788 |
| ~5 users | Jobber Grow (5) | $229/mo | $2,748 |
| ~5 users | Jobber Plus (5) | $399/mo | $4,788 |

8–10 users
Neither vendor sells an “8-user” Jobber SKU on the public price list. Compare published sizes, then add extra seats.
| Plan (users included) | Annual list | Year-one (× 12) | Extra users (official) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jobber Connect (10) | $229/mo | $2,748 | Not on /pricing/ |
| Jobber Grow (10) | $299/mo | $3,588 | Not on /pricing/ |
| Jobber Plus (10) | $449/mo | $5,388 | Not on /pricing/ |
| Housecall Pro MAX (8) | $299/mo | $3,588 | +$75/mo each |
| Housecall Pro MAX at 10 users | $299 + $75 + $75 = $449/mo | $5,388 | FACT, /pricing/ |
| Housecall Pro Essentials at 8 users | $149 + ($100 × 3) = $449/mo | $5,388 | FACT, /pricing/ |
At 8 users, Housecall Pro MAX ($299, 8 included) is a lower list than Essentials plus three extra seats ($449). At 10 users, Jobber’s published Connect SKU ($229) is a lower list than MAX plus two seats ($449). Those plans are not feature-matched. Do not treat the dollar gap as a quality score.
Editor note (EVIDENCE), Jobber extra users: Jobber’s pricing page does not publish a per-extra-user fee. Jobber’s own comparison page (jobber-vs-housecall-pro, “Prices last verified August 2026”) says “Additional user pricing $29/month” and “Teams of 16+ can contact sales for custom pricing.” Use $29 only as that first-party evidence, not as a /pricing/ FACT.
Editor note (conflict), Housecall Pro extra users: Housecall Pro’s pricing page lists extra users on Essentials (+$100/mo) and MAX (+$75/mo). The llm-info page says “Additional users are available on the MAX plan.” Prefer the pricing page.
Editor note (conflict), industry pricing: Jobber’s comparison page says Housecall Pro “pricing varies by industry” and prints ranges (Basic $59–$79, Essentials team $149–$299, MAX team $299–$649, extra users $35–$100). Those ranges are not on Housecall Pro’s pricing page. This article uses the /pricing/ list. HVAC, plumbing, and electrical shops: Housecall Pro’s llm-info page also names a Mechanical Package with “different pricing” and no dollar amount. We will not guess it. See HVAC software for small shops.
Jobber still showed the Aug 31, 2026 “up to 40%” intro on the day this page was updated. After that date, re-check Jobber pricing. We will not keep the $21 Core intro as the default.
Verdict by shop size
Solo (1 login)
Start with Jobber Core if you need quotes, invoices, online booking, a website, and a 14-day Grow trial, and the $348 annual subscription is the constraint.
Look at Housecall Pro Basic if you want job costing, a price book, review management, and customer financing on the entry plan. Those are on Basic at $59/mo annual ($708 year one). The same job-costing line on Jobber is a Grow feature. Grow for one user is $149/mo annual ($1,788 year one) — more than Housecall Pro Basic.
If the shop already runs QuickBooks Online, Jobber publishes QBO sync on Connect (1 user, $99/mo annual, $1,188 year one). Housecall Pro publishes QBO sync on Essentials, which includes five users ($149/mo annual). A one-person shop pays for five HCP seats to get that line on the public list.
Housecall Pro’s FAQ: no long-term contract. Jobber’s FAQ: monthly with no commitment, monthly with a 1-year commitment, or annual prepaid (initial payment non-refundable if you cancel mid-term).
About 5 users
Do not pick on the $149 number. Jobber Connect (5) and Housecall Pro Essentials (5) list the same annual rate. Year one is $1,788 either way.
Month-to-month at this size favors Housecall Pro on the sticker ($189 vs $199). Annual billing ties.
Decide on the published extras:
- Housecall Pro Essentials adds (from
/pricing/): routes, flat-rate pricing, checklist automations, photo reports and annotations, employee GPS (phone GPS, no hardware), commissions, QuickBooks Online sync. - Jobber Connect adds (from
/pricing/, on top of Core): automated client reminders, automatic payments, checklists, automated quote and invoice follow-ups, QuickBooks Online sync, time and expenses.
If the fifth, sixth, or seventh login is likely, the extra-user math diverges. Housecall Pro Essentials is +$100/mo per extra user (FACT). Jobber’s public price list jumps by published team size (5 → 10). The $29 extra-seat figure is EVIDENCE only, above.
Grow at 5 users is $229/mo annual ($2,748) if you need Jobber’s two-way SMS, visual quotes, automatic time tracking, job costing, and the automation builder. Plus at 5 users is $399/mo annual ($4,788).
8–10 users
Jobber Connect for 10 ($229/mo annual, $2,748 year one) is the lower published subscription at ten logins. Jobber Grow for 10 ($299/mo, $3,588) matches Housecall Pro MAX at eight users ($299/mo, $3,588) on the year-one subscription, not on included heads.
Housecall Pro MAX is the plan that publishes route optimization, Recurring Service Plans, the sales proposal tool, open API access, a dedicated onboarding specialist, and escalated phone support. Extra MAX seats are +$75/mo. Ten users on MAX is $449/mo, $5,388 year one.
If the shop is leaving the 1–10 band, or a sales rep is already quoting per technician, use the three-way compare. ServiceTitan’s official page is Request Pricing / Free Demo. No list price on this site.
What the official feature lists actually differ on
Only items we can point to on a first-party page we fetched. If a blog claims a win we could not see on an official page, it is omitted.
| Item | Jobber (official) | Housecall Pro (official) |
|---|---|---|
| Entry annual plan | Core, 1 user, $29/mo. Quotes, invoices, online booking, website, reporting, marketplace apps. | Basic, 1 user, $59/mo. Online booking, invoices and payments, scheduling and dispatch, quotes, review management, price book, job costing, consumer financing. |
| Job costing | Listed on Grow (“Track profitability with job costing”). | Listed on Basic. |
| Price book | Not named on /pricing/. | Named on Basic. |
| Consumer financing (your customer pays over time) | Not listed. Jobber Capital on /pricing/ is financing for the business. | “Access to business and consumer financing” on every plan. Basic line: “Payments & consumer financing.” |
| Website | “Create a professional website” on every plan. | Websites sit under “Get more done,” not inside the Basic / Essentials / MAX feature lists. |
| QuickBooks Online | Connect and up. | Essentials and up. |
| Automatic / recurring payments | Connect: “Collect payments automatically.” FAQ: automatic card payments for recurring work, US and Canada. | MAX: “Recurring Service Plans.” Lower-plan add-on price not published. |
| Two-way SMS | Grow: “Connect with customers through two-way SMS” (US, Canada, UK). | Not listed under that name on /pricing/. We do not claim they lack texting. |
| Routes | Scheduling page: map, routing, “automatically generate the most efficient routes.” Plan gate not stated on that page. | Essentials: Routes. MAX: route optimization (“real drive time and live traffic”). |
| GPS | /pricing/ and the scheduling page: team activity in Jobber, or live tracking via fleet partners. | Essentials: employee GPS from the phone, “no hardware required.” |
| Sales proposals | Grow: visual quotes, optional line items, reviews when the Reviews add-on is on. | MAX includes the Sales Proposal Tool. On Basic and Essentials it is a paid add-on. |
| Commissions | Not named on /pricing/. | Essentials: commissions by item, service, or job type. |
| AI receptionist / after-hours answering | Jobber AI Receptionist $29/mo add-on; included on Plus. | “AI team members” listed on every plan. AI Team page: Marketing / chat CSR / Analyst / Coach / Help AI included; CSR AI 24/7 call answering is a paid feature (dollar not published). |
| Open API | API tour listed as a $99 “value” on the compare table, not a plan price. | MAX: open API access. |
| Contract | Monthly no-commitment, monthly 1-year commitment, or annual prepaid (non-refundable). Auto-renews unless set to non-renew. | “Housecall Pro does not require long-term contracts.” |
| Free trial | 14 days on Grow, no credit card. Data kept if the trial expires. | 14 days on MAX, no credit card. Data kept if the trial expires. |
Jobber comparison-page conflicts we are not repeating as fact. Jobber’s own vs-page (high-level table “Last updated: May 2026”) marks Housecall Pro route optimization as requiring a third-party integration, and marks “AI Team” as an add-on. Housecall Pro’s pricing page lists route optimization on MAX, and lists AI team members on every plan, with 24/7 CSR call answering called out separately as paid. Official Housecall Pro pages win that disagreement.
Card and bank processing (headline, then the help-center table)
Processing is not in the year-one subscription column. Both vendors take a cut of collected payments.
Jobber (FACT, every plan, pricing):
| Method | Fee |
|---|---|
| Credit card (online) | 2.9% + 30¢ |
| Tap to Pay | 2.7% + 30¢ |
| Bank payments (ACH), US | 1% |
| Instant payouts | additional 1% |
Housecall Pro (FACT, pricing FAQ): “A 1% fee is applied to bank payments, and card processing fees start at 2.59%.” “Deposit checks for no fee through the mobile app.” Headline on the plan cards: “Card processing rates as low as 2.59%.”
Editor note (EVIDENCE), Housecall Pro rate card: The plan page does not break out every card path. Housecall Pro Help, “Housecall Pro Payment Processing Options,” written by Nate H, 20 July 2026 (help article):
| Method | Fee |
|---|---|
| Standard cards via reader or Tap to Pay | 2.59%. Tap to Pay +$5 per active device per month |
| Standard cards entered online by the customer | 2.99% |
| Standard cards entered manually / scanned / card on file | 3.49% |
| Amex and commercial / corporate / business cards (any method) | 3.49% |
| ACH / bank transfer | 1% |
| Instapay | +1% |
| PayPal and Venmo on invoice | 2.99% |
| PayPal Pay Later / Klarna | 4.99% |
| Consumer financing | Starting at 3.9% |
| Mobile check deposit | Free (1–4 business days) |
“As low as 2.59%” is the in-person standard-card rate, not the online invoice rate. We are not running a sample-revenue year-one with processing mixed in. That would be an example, not a measurement.
Published add-ons (only where a first-party page prints a dollar)
Jobber (FACT, pricing). Included on Plus; sold on lower plans:
| Add-on | Price |
|---|---|
| Marketing Suite | $99/mo |
| Jobber AI Receptionist | $29/mo |
| Pipeline | $49/mo |
Housecall Pro. Pricing page names CSR AI, Pipeline, Payroll, Accounting, Campaigns, Voice, Websites, VGPS/Dashcams, and others under “Get more done” without dollars.
Editor note (EVIDENCE): Estimating software FAQ: Sales Proposal Tool is $40/month on Basic and Essentials, included on MAX. The pricing page lists it as a “$40/mo value” on MAX. Recurring Service Plans, Pipeline, and CSR AI call answering have no published dollar on the pages we fetched.
Franchise and multi-location: both vendors say contact us / custom. No public rate.
Trials, billing, and what “cancel” means
| Jobber | Housecall Pro | |
|---|---|---|
| Trial | 14 days, Grow, no card | 14 days, MAX, no card |
| After trial | Reminder to add billing. Data not deleted if the account expires. | Reminder to add billing. Data kept; resume by adding billing. |
| Monthly, no term | Cancel anytime; ends at the current period. | No long-term contract. Cancel is described as simple. |
| Monthly, 1-year commitment | 12-month minimum. Cancel mid-year and billing continues to term end. | Not offered as a named SKU on /pricing/. |
| Annual prepaid | Billed in full up front. Cancel mid-year: access through term end; initial payment non-refundable. | Annual list is a lower per-month rate. FAQ: upgrade anytime; downgrade at period end. |
Both trials are the high plan, not the cheap plan. Use the two weeks to see Grow or MAX, then buy the SKU that matches headcount.
If the shop is growing out of this pair
ServiceTitan publishes three package names — Starter, Essentials, The Works — and this line: “Our per-technician pricing is designed to fit your business and goals, at any size.” The official path is Request Pricing / Free Demo / Contact Sales. servicetitan.com/pricing does not print a dollar. Small Shop Fit will not either.
That split belongs on Jobber vs Housecall Pro vs ServiceTitan.

FAQ
Is Jobber cheaper than Housecall Pro?
Not at every published size. Solo Core vs Basic: yes, on the annual subscription ($348 vs $708). Five-user Connect vs Essentials, annual: same $149/mo. Five-user month-to-month: Housecall Pro Essentials is $10/mo lower on the list. Ten-user Connect vs MAX-plus-extras: Jobber is the lower published subscription; the plans are not the same product.
Which number should I budget?
The post-promo annual rate × 12, plus processing, plus any add-on you actually turn on. Do not budget Jobber at $21/mo after 31 Aug 2026 unless the live pricing page still says so.
Do I have to sign a year?
Housecall Pro says no long-term contract. Jobber will sell month-to-month with no commitment; annual prepaid is cheaper per month and is not refunded if you leave early.
What about extra techs mid-year?
Housecall Pro prints +$100 (Essentials) and +$75 (MAX) per extra user. Jobber prints 1 / 5 / 10 / 15 user bundles on /pricing/ and “Let’s chat” above that. The $29 extra-user line is EVIDENCE from Jobber’s comparison page, not the price list.
